Timber Lake Camp – residential camp
in New York’s Catskill Mountains.
What is your title/position at camp?
Associate Director
How long have you been working
for camp, both seasonally and full-time?
I’ve worked at Timber Lake for 7
summers, 3 of those years being full-time.
How did you get your start in camping? If
you started off seasonally, how did you
transition into your job as a full-time
camp professional?
I grew up attending Timber Lake as a camper
and then worked there both as a counselor
and group leader. Upon graduating from
college, I jumped at the opportunity
to work full-time for Timber Lake.
What is your background in terms of major
in school, degree(s) and school(s) attended,
and if you had another career prior to
camping, what was it?
B.S. from Cornell University in 2005 -
Undergraduate Business Program (Applied
Economics and Management).
What areas do you primarily focus on
in your role (staffing, camper recruiting,
programming, etc.)? Any other skills that
people can feel free to contact you about?
During the winter, I focus on the "business
side" of camping----cost accounting,
purchasing, managing capital projects,
staff/camper advertising, marketing, financial
analysis. I also put together the summer program,
work on camper recruitment and head sports
staff recruitment.
What do you like to do in your free
time?
Play/watch a lot of sports, enjoy hanging
out with friends.

I live in New York City and work in Glen
Cove, Long Island.
