What camp do you work for? What type of camp is it?

Timber Lake Camp – residential camp in New York’s Catskill Mountains.

What is your title/position at camp?

Associate Director

How long have you been working for camp, both seasonally and full-time?

I’ve worked at Timber Lake for 7 summers, 3 of those years being full-time.

How did you get your start in camping?  If you started off seasonally, how did you transition into your job as a full-time camp professional?

I grew up attending Timber Lake as a camper and then worked there both as a counselor and group leader. Upon graduating from college, I jumped at the opportunity to work full-time for Timber Lake.

What is your background in terms of major in school, degree(s) and school(s) attended, and if you had another career prior to camping, what was it?

B.S. from Cornell University in 2005 - Undergraduate Business Program (Applied Economics and Management).

What areas do you primarily focus on in your role (staffing, camper recruiting, programming, etc.)? Any other skills that people can feel free to contact you about?

During the winter, I focus on the "business side" of camping----cost accounting, purchasing, managing capital projects, staff/camper advertising, marketing, financial analysis. I also put together the summer program, work on camper recruitment and head sports staff recruitment.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Play/watch a lot of sports, enjoy hanging out with friends.

Where do you live/work and how can people contact you?

I live in New York City and work in Glen Cove, Long Island.
